TAFT June 1959 Classmates;
A month ago, during 1-2 October, we held our 52nd Reunion; and, once again, it was a great time of sharing, remembering, and catching up with one another. We also enjoyed seeing a few TAFT grads from classes that surrounded ours, as they are always welcomed to attend any and all of our Reunions.
We again gathered at the Hilton Garden Inn in Des Plaines, which is where we had our wonderful 50th and 51st Reunions. A total of 56 attended this year, the majority being Classmates. We talked and laughed, looked over our extensive memorabilia display from 1955-59, enjoyed a good meal and dessert, took another group photo, raffled off some great door prizes, sang the TAFT Fight Song we all remember, and took home a new DVD.
The DVD was again produced by Fred Allegretti, our computer, internet, and website wizard. It has some wonderful pictures from past Annual Reunions and the many Mini-Reunions which are now taking place. It also discussed our annual Reunions and how and why they came about, and the philosophy now behind them. Keep an eye on our website, www.taftreunion1959, for more information about Reunion 52 and some unique photos from that time recently when we once more were “TOGETHER AGAIN!”
If you were unable to attend Reunion 52, we encourage you to plan to attend Reunion 53 next year. We know that the majority of those who did attend are planning to come back in October 2012. These Annual Reunions take place with a reception and dinner the first Saturday evening in October and a Farewell Breakfast the next Sunday morning. The entire weekend has proven to be a time to remember, to see old friends, and to experience a lot of fun and good times.
Finally, be sure to let any of us know if you change your mailing address, e-mail, or phone numbers, so we can continue to provide you Class information and announcements of Reunions and other Class activities. Our individual contact information is on the website. We continue to meet by telephone conference call on a monthly basis, and we welcome feedback concerning our website, Annual Reunions, these information e-mails, etc….or just some information about you, your families, your career, etc. Let us hear from you!
