Re: TAFT 1959 Christmas/New Year’s Mini-Reunion 2011

The Class Christmas/New Year Mini-Reunion photo above was taken on Thursday, December 29th, at the Des Plaines Hilton Garden Inn on River Road. It was taken after we had lunch, welcomed Santa, and just before we sang our Fight Song! Anne Fear McManus was unable to make the luncheon but sent everyone a Taft colors wrapped Christmas candy Life Savers (we all need to keep saving life these days!), Penni had made delicate snowflake Christmas ornaments, and, as you can see, Santa delivered Santa Hats and candy canes.

A good time was had by all! The following attended:

Here is some noteworthy news! On the evening of Saturday, October 6, 2012, this fall, we plan to conduct our 53rd Annual Reunion. We also will have a Farewell Breakfast the next day, on Sunday, for all who are able to make it. This will be the sixth year in a row we have gathered to share past and present stories, renew friendships, take a traditional photo, watch a brief video showing Classmates, enjoy a short reception, full dinner, and dessert, raffle a few door prizes, and walk down Memory Lane together. We always have a great evening and encourage everyone to attend. If you have not been able to do so in the past, we would love for you to come this year. All spouses, friends, and TAFT grads and spouses from other classes also are invited to join us.

So, please mark the date! We again plan to gather at the Hilton Garden Inn on River Road in Des Plaines, where we have held five of our six recent reunions. The Hilton always welcomes us, treats us well, and historically has provided three free room-nights and a “dinner for two” as raffle prizes for our reunions. In working closely with the Hilton this year we hope to be able to reduce the cost of this fall’s gathering. As in past years, we plan to mail an information letter and reservation form, along with a return envelope, to everyone in late June/early July. Again, please plan to join us!
